Humane Society to host "Cookies, Community & the Constitution" event July 1

[June 09, 2026]  The Humane Society of Logan County will be hosting a "Cookies, Community & the Constitution" event on Wednesday July 1. The Humane Society will be celebrating our country's 250th birthday with a 36-foot-long patriotic decorated cookie table. There will be over 55 kinds of cookies and over 300 dozen honoring Presidents, First Ladies, historical figures and events that shaped our country over the past 250 years.

People can walk the table and choose their own cookies to purchase. They can choose 13 cookies (for the 13 original colonies) or 26 cookies (the 26th amendment). As they walk the table, there will be bits of information on how the cookie pertains to that person or event. There will be door prizes at the event.

The Humane Society encourages people to go explore the new Museum of Route 66, local specialty shops, get a coffee or libation, have a pizza or some ice cream while they are downtown.

There is also a daily trivia in the FaceBook event page. If anyone gets 20 trivia questions correct, their name will go in a drawing for a dozen free cookies at the event.

Later in the month, there will be another opportunity for a free dozen cookies by taking a selfie on the watermelon bench and tagging the Humane Society.
