Lincoln Daily News welcomes letters of appreciation, information and opinion on matters pertaining to the community. 
 
Controversial issues:
As a community we need to be able to talk openly about matters that affect the quality of our lives. The most effective and least offensive manner to get your point across is to stick to the issue and refrain from commenting on another person's opinion. Letters that deviate from focusing on the issue may be rejected or edited and marked as such.

 A comment on the proposed Lincoln Office of Tourism logo

I believe the new Abraham Lincoln logo is too 'cartoonish' as some Lincoln council members stated.

I agree with concept logo but believe Abraham Lincoln should be portrayed as a more serious person.

Yes, the high hat and the beard make an older gentleman; but I suggest the high hat should be moved further down and the beard much softer.

Lincoln, IL needs a positive image while providing a historical lesson in the logo.
