Lincoln Daily News
welcomes letters of appreciation, information and
opinion on matters pertaining to the community.
Controversial issues:
As a
community we need to be able to talk openly about
matters that affect the quality of our lives. The
most effective and least offensive manner to get
your point across is to stick to the issue
and refrain from commenting on another person's
opinion. Letters that deviate from focusing on the
issue may be rejected or edited and marked as such.

To the editor:
The Lincoln Postal Food Drive was held on Saturday, May 9. Lincoln
postal carriers collected over 4,700 pounds of food. The food was
divided between Holy Family/Catholic Charities, Lincoln-Logan Food
Pantry, Jefferson Street Christian Church Food Pantry and the
Salvation Army.
The Lincoln postal carriers would like to thank all who generously
donated food, Lincoln Daily News for helping publicize the food
drive and all the volunteers. The selfless volunteers really made a
difference this year.

Whether it was walking
neighborhoods and risking their health and physical safety while
doing mail carriers’ jobs for them and delivering bags (many of whom
had known knee, hip, back or tendon issues could be aggravated by
all the walking but chose to help anyway) or working on food drive
day and giving their time and effort the volunteers stepped up and
helped make this year’s food drive as successful as it was.
Thank you for all your help.
Victoria Biehl, coordinator, Lincoln Postal Food Drive
