Lincoln Daily News
welcomes letters of appreciation, information and
opinion on matters pertaining to the community.
Controversial issues:
As a
community we need to be able to talk openly about
matters that affect the quality of our lives. The
most effective and least offensive manner to get
your point across is to stick to the issue
and refrain from commenting on another person's
opinion. Letters that deviate from focusing on the
issue may be rejected or edited and marked as such.

On behalf of Kent Froebe and I, we
would like to extend our heartfelt thanks to everyone who made the
2026 John Welsh Memorial Tournament such a tremendous success. To
our participating teams and coaches….we thank you for your
sportsmanship, preparation, and passion for the game. The level of
competition, respect, and camaraderie displayed throughout the
weekend reflects the very best of what athletics can offer.
To our incredible volunteers and tournament workers….your time,
energy, and commitment behind the scenes ensured everything ran
smoothly. We are deeply appreciative and grateful to everyone. This
event simply cannot be done without all of your efforts. We are
especially grateful to our local businesses for your generous
support and sponsorship. Your investment in our tournament
demonstrates the strength and unity of our community. We encourage
everyone to continue supporting the businesses that support our
youth.

Finally, we extend our sincere
appreciation to everyone that provided us with the facilities,
resources, and ongoing partnership. Your commitment to
education-based athletics and community engagement makes events like
this possible. Thank you again for your continued support of our
event. We look forward to seeing everyone again next year at the
2027 John Welsh Memorial Tournament that will be held on Saturday,
February 27th and Sunday, February 28th, 2027.
With gratitude,
