Central Illinois law firm awards $1,000 scholarships to future educators; deadline is June 21st

[June 03, 2026]

BLOOMINGTON, Ill. — Onward Injury Law is proud to announce that applications are now open for the 2026 Mary Rohrscheib Teaching Scholarship, a $1,000 award honoring the memory of a beloved Central Illinois educator and supporting the next generation of teachers who will shape young lives across the state.

The scholarship was established in memory of Mary Rohrscheib, the grandmother of Onward's Managing Attorney, Josh Rohrscheib. A devoted third and fourth grade teacher, Mary spent her career making a lasting impact on the young students in her classroom, and her legacy continues through this annual award. Since its founding in 2020, Onward Injury Law has awarded more than $18,000 in scholarships to aspiring educators from across Illinois.

"Behind every success story is a teacher who made someone feel seen, capable, and worthy of more," said Josh Rohrscheib, Managing Attorney at Onward Injury Law. "This scholarship is our way of honoring my grandmother's life and investing in the people who will carry that same spirit of dedication and kindness into classrooms for years to come."
