Lincolnland Technical Education Center
(LTEC) is proud to recognize Lillian Carrillo as the recipient of
the Ready for the Real World Award. Lillian is the daughter of
Shawna Martinie & Dakota Martinie. Through her dedication,
compassion, and commitment to serving others, she has demonstrated
the qualities that make her truly prepared for success beyond high
school.
During her time at LTEC, Lillian participated in both Cosmetology
and Nursing 101 programs, where she discovered meaningful ways to
care for and support others. She shared that she chose these classes
because she enjoys helping people and making them feel good about
themselves, whether through something as simple as washing someone’s
hair or assisting them to the restroom.
Her passion for caring for others extends beyond the classroom and
into her future goals. This fall, Lillian will attend Heartland
Community College to pursue a degree in elementary education. While
attending college, she plans to earn her Certified Nursing Assistant
(CNA) license and work in a nursing home, continuing her commitment
to helping and serving others.
Outside of school, Lillian enjoys line dancing and spending time
watching movies, reading, listening to music, and baking. She
credits LTEC for helping her grow personal and socially throughout
her high school experience.
“What I enjoy most about LTEC is being close to my teachers, as we
spend more time together than a regular class,” she shared “I also
enjoyed having class with students from other schools. They have
helped me get closer to people I wouldn’t have outside of the class
setting.”
