Community Action Partnership of
Central Illinois (CAPCIL) is pleased to announce that applications
are now available for the 2026 Community Services Block Grant (CSBG)
Scholarship Program.
The CSBG Scholarship, funded in cooperation with the State of
Illinois’ Office of Community Assistance through the Department of
Commerce and Economic Opportunity, is designed to provide financial
assistance to income-eligible individuals pursuing educational and
career advancement opportunities. Scholarships may be used toward
tuition costs at an accredited Illinois educational institution or
to cover necessary job-related requirements identified by an
employer.
Eligible applicants may be pursuing college coursework toward an
associate or bachelor’s degree, a General Education Diploma (GED),
or a trade school certification. Scholarship awards are based on
individual need, with funding available up to a maximum of $5,000
per applicant.
To qualify, applicants must:
• Be a resident of Logan, Mason, Menard, Fulton, DeWitt, or Piatt
County
• Be enrolled or registered in an institution of higher education or
trade school, or provide proof of passing GED practice tests (GED
applicants)
• Meet 2026 CSBG income eligibility guidelines (at or below 200% of
the federal poverty level)
• Be enrolled in at least one CAPCIL service
Applicants are also required to submit documentation including proof
of county residency, gross household income for the past 30 days,
household member information, and school transcripts.

Scholarship
applications are reviewed on a rolling basis and awarded on a
first-come, first-served basis. Applicants are encouraged to
apply early, as submissions must be received at least one month
prior to the start of the program or academic semester.

picked up at CAPCIL locations, or downloaded and printed from
the CAPCIL website at www.capcil.info.
