[May 12, 2026]

Community Action Partnership of Central Illinois (CAPCIL) is pleased to announce that applications are now available for the 2026 Community Services Block Grant (CSBG) Scholarship Program.

The CSBG Scholarship, funded in cooperation with the State of Illinois’ Office of Community Assistance through the Department of Commerce and Economic Opportunity, is designed to provide financial assistance to income-eligible individuals pursuing educational and career advancement opportunities. Scholarships may be used toward tuition costs at an accredited Illinois educational institution or to cover necessary job-related requirements identified by an employer.

Eligible applicants may be pursuing college coursework toward an associate or bachelor’s degree, a General Education Diploma (GED), or a trade school certification. Scholarship awards are based on individual need, with funding available up to a maximum of $5,000 per applicant.

To qualify, applicants must:

• Be a resident of Logan, Mason, Menard, Fulton, DeWitt, or Piatt County

• Be enrolled or registered in an institution of higher education or trade school, or provide proof of passing GED practice tests (GED applicants)

• Meet 2026 CSBG income eligibility guidelines (at or below 200% of the federal poverty level)

• Be enrolled in at least one CAPCIL service

Applicants are also required to submit documentation including proof of county residency, gross household income for the past 30 days, household member information, and school transcripts.
