LTEC is proud to recognize our
February Student of the Month, TJ Morris, a dedicated and driven
student in the Automotive Technology programs. TJ is the son of Tara
& Dwayne Morris. He has spent the past two years in the autos
program, where he has distinguished himself as both a leader and a
standout student.
Automotive Technology Instructor Jon Graber shared, “TJ has been in
my auto class for two years. He is one of my brightest students. He
has taken over the role of being a shop leader. He will take on any
project I ask, but is also keen enough to help when not asked. I
have thoroughly enjoyed having him in class the past two years. I
look forward to see where he goes.”
TJ’s passion for the automotive field began with a lifelong interest
in fixing things. He appreciated that learning how to repair
vehicles not only saves money, but builds valuable life skills. He
credits the positive environment and strong instruction in the
program as the reasons he has enjoyed his experience at LTEC. He
especially values the hands-on learning opportunities that LTEC
classes provide.
In addition to Automotive Technology, he has taken a wide range of
courses including Introduction to Woods, Advanced Woods,
Introduction to Autos, Introduction to Metals, Piano and Public
Speaking. His diverse interests reflect both his curiosity and
willingness to challenge himself.
Outside the classroom, he works as a waiter at IMO’s Cafe and is
actively involved in school organizations including LEAF, ASL, FBLA,
FCA, and Chess Club. He has been a member of the soccer and bass
fishing teams for four years. In his free time, he enjoys riding
four-wheelers, playing guitar, spending time with friends, and
growing in his faith.
