LTEC announces January Student of the Month, Conner Riggs

[January 30, 2026]

Lincolnland Technical Education Center (LTEC) in partnership with the Rotary Club is proud to recognize Conner Riggs as the January Student of the Month. This honor is awarded to students who demonstrate excellence in the classroom, dedication to their program, and strong commitment to their future career goals.

Conner is the son of Jeffrey Riggs. Conner is enrolled in the Nursing 101 program to prepare for college while working towards his long-term goal of becoming a nurse. He aspires to work as an emergency room nurse and plans to continue his education at Millikin University, where he will pursue a degree in nursing.

One of the aspects Conner values most about LTEC is the hands-on learning environment and the level of support provided by instructors. He appreciated how engaged the teachers are and how willing they are to help students succeed both academically and professionally. This supportive environment has helped him build confidence and develop essential skills that will serve him well as he moves forward in his nursing education.

Outside of the classroom, Conner enjoys playing video games, reading, and spending time with dogs. These interests provide balance as he manages the demands of his coursework and prepares for his future in healthcare.

Conner was nominated by his instructor, Mrs. Lindsey Fink, for consistently demonstrating what it means to be dedicated to the nursing profession. He applies himself fully in both classroom and lab experiences, showing strong effort, focus, and genuine desire to learn. He is also known for being the first to offer a helping hand. Throughout the year, his commitment to his education has been clear, and it has been exciting to watch his skills and confidence continue to grow.
