[July 14, 2019]   LINCOLN - How fitting to learn of the funds thus far received toward the 2019 RFL – came on the birthday of our country when we can also celebrate “one more birthday” for those who celebrate being a survivor of cancer! If the “Donation Thermometer” was still up (wind took it down more than once-Dennis tried) we’d have a star at the top!

Thanks to Logan County’s caring spirit more research, cures, treatments and other services offered through these funds will be available for cancer patients.

The Relay For Life theme this year was “Relay for Life, Cancer: not here, not there, not anywhere” and was inspired by Dr. Seuss. Held on June 15th at Lincoln College from 1:00p.m. till 11:00p.m. it was upbeat from the opening ceremony until the balloon release at 11 p.m. The “HOPE” sign glowing in the balcony said it all!

The 2019 teams were:

Angels All Around,
CEFCU Lincoln Member Center,
Team CURE Age,
Dana’s Team,
Ethel’s Angels ,
Emblem Angels,
Faith, Hope & Love,
Friends & Family,
Friends Walking for a Cure,
Gails’s Pumpkin Patch,
Northern Lites,
Oh the Places We Will GO,
Purpose Driven People,
St. John UCC Remembers,
Super Papa’s Team,
Team Kayla
The Rack Pack

Supported by the work of 18 teams, 56 Sponsors, 18 In-Kind donors and caring people of Logan County the funds thus far are over $56,610.60, and there is more money that has been turned in that has not been counted! All money received in the office by July 25, 2019 will be added to this years campaign. See Bill Post for a quick, beat the date, delivery 217-732-7564.

The yard signs that are to be returned to the office can still be put on the porch of Tonita Reifsteck’s home and those who did not get their Survivor shirt &/or Pin can also call Toni (217-855-1645) to make arrangements to pick one up if available – only a small supply left to give out.
