[April 30, 2024]  LINCOLN -  Gary Leroy Barackman, 83, of Lincoln, passed away April 26, 2024, at Castle Manor surrounded by his family.

Service: 5 p.m. Wednesday, May 1, 2024, at Holland Barry & Bennett Funeral Home

Visitation: 6-7 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home

Obituary

Gary Leroy Barackman, 83, of Lincoln, passed away April 26, 2024, at Castle Manor surrounded by his family.

Funeral services will be at 5 p.m. Wednesday, May 1, 2024, at Holland Barry & Bennett Funeral Home with Pastor Nick Hardy from Crossway Church officiating. A time of visitation will follow from 6-7 p.m. also at the funeral home. Burial will be at 11 a.m. Thursday, May 2, 2024, at Camp Butler National Cemetery.

Gary was born August 28, 1940, in Keyesport, IL., the son of Charles Joseph Barackman and Irene May (Links). He married Patsy Eileen Joplin on February 21, 1960, in Keyesport, IL.

He proudly served his country in the United States Air Force. Gary retired from Koeting Ford in Granite City, IL. after 35 years of service. He was an avid St. Louis Cardinal's fan and a skilled woodworker. He was bold in his faith and loved music, especially Gospel music.

Survivors include his children: Randy Scott Barackman, Marie Ann (Patrick) Nugent, and Matthew Leroy (Brandy) Barackman; grandchildren: Amber Wilson (Jeremy Duffer), Lucas (Ally) Nugent, and Margaret Barackman; great grandchildren: Levi, Stacia, Joseph, Wednesday, and Jensen, and brother Elvin D, Barackman.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Patsy, and his brothers Junior, Charles, and Bobby.

Memorial donations may be made to Castle Manor and will be accepted at the funeral home.
